I was frustrated.

I had just finished writing a short story—Session 14-9-B. I thought it was good enough to submit for publishing.

But I couldn’t even submit it. Nearly every magazine I found had the same rule:
If you used AI in any part of your writing process, your story would be rejected, and in many cases, you’d be banned from ever submitting again.

The story was mine.
It was my idea.
It carried my spirit.
It had my soul.

Yes, I used AI—but only as a collaborative tool. I oversaw every word that made it to the final draft. So why should that disqualify the story?

Shouldn’t stories be judged on their merit?

If a story is bad, it’s bad. If it’s good, it’s good. Why does it matter what tools were used in the process?

When spell check was invented, did we ban every writer who used it?
Or how about Grammarly? It uses AI—should we reject stories edited with it?

That’s why I was frustrated. Frustrated enough to do something about it.

And so, Rogue Books was born.

Rogue Books isn’t a dumping ground for AI-generated fluff. Every story we publish goes through an editorial process. We look for originality, emotional resonance, and craftsmanship. We seek stories that are human, even if they were created with the help of AI.

So if you’re a frustrated writer—if you’ve poured yourself into a story but used AI to help you shape it—welcome.
You’re not alone.

Submit your work. Let’s see what we can build together in this new frontier.
